The SubDivision – Elephant Walk EP – out NOW

Paradise Lost Recordings Release 008:

The SubDivision – Elephant Walk EP

What is an elephant walk?  It’s a stomping party by large mammals who take no shit from anyone.  The original Elephant Walk track by The SubDivision is a minimal stomper, rounded out by a huge, simple subbass and 8-bit atmospheric effects built to wake the dancefloor from its stupor by way of its original sound.  Something completely different here, actually one of the first songs produces by The SubDivision before they even started listening to dubstep, revisited here to bring it up to date!  Long-awaited by those who have heard it, the original has been rinsed by DJs around the globe, from Djunya in San Francisco (his remix of the track coming soon on a future Paradise Lost release) to BunZero in Europe.  But keep one thing in mind:  we don’t give our tracks out much, meaning you’ll be getting fresh material here!

Australia’s man of the moment, and current Tech Itch favorite, Droid Sector, ascending to prominence through hard work and ruff tracks, takes the reigns for the remix here, working his dark but ravey influences on the track but keeping to the original atmosphere.  Big remix, big remixer.  Watch out for him in 2010, much to come from this man from Perth, including future releases on Paradise Lost!

The Rose, last but not least, shows off The SubDivision’s talents from both the softer, melodic side of the dubstep genre to the harder rave style.  As goes the song, “It’s death that gives the world its point, we love a rose because we know it will soon be gone”….  deepness, and you’ll feel this one.  Beauty with thorns, this is the best way to describe this tune.

Take the ride with us on PL008, The Elephant Walk EP from The SubDivision.  Out at all quality digital outlets by Christmas 2009, including:  Beatport, iTunes, Digital-tunes.net, Juno.co.uk, Bleep.com, etc.  Available NOW at beatport.

The SubDivision – The Lust EP, out NOW everywhere!

Another explosive release from Paradise Lost Recordings, featuring label-heads, The SubDivision.  These two tunes go in a bit of a different direction from the previous sound of the label, taking it a bit more jump-up and in your face, following on the success of similar styled tunes “Piranha” and “Le Mani Su” from The SubDivision which they released on True Tiger and Terminal Dusk.

“Your Mom” is simply a party tune, and a well-appreciated one, having been on the Beatport best seller list since it’s release.  Keep an eye out on the mix, though, as we jump from jump-up dubstep tempo to jump-up DNB tempo in the middle and then back down.  A crowd pleaser, tried and tested.  Trust.  Your Mom would be proud to hear you drop this one at the party…

“Lust” is a bit of a dirty number incorporating sleazy basslines  with a bit of a futuristic porn sound.  If there was a movie similar to Bladerunner with a hate-sex scene, this might just be the tune to lay down on that!  Overdriven drums, filthy synths and XXX vocal samples make this one perfect for late night, when everyone is trying their best (worst) to hook up on the floor!

Out at all quality digital outlets NOW, including Beatport, iTunes, Digital-Tunes.net, Bleep, Juno.co.uk, etc.

New TSD LP in the works

We have been putting together the tracks for the TSD LP over the last few months.  Hard at work in the studio…

TSD in the studio (Italy)

TSD in the studio (Italy)

We think this LP will be in digital format only due to the fact that it is not directed straight at the dancefloor, although there will be some tunes that go that way.  We are in the mastering phase with the tunes at the moment.  As of today, we plan on releasing the following tunes on the LP:

Just Can’t Fight

Lo So

Cold Times

The Big Calm

Just One Shot

Sfuma e Dissolve

Groovy Thing

Perfect Storm

Pensieri Morbidi (re-EDIT)

Kissin Slowly

Never Look Back

Take a Deep Breath of Fear

The last 3 tunes on this LP will be slowstep, or as Geo likes to call it, Emostep.  That simply means that they’ll be at 103-110 BPM instead of hovering around 139.  You’ll probably be able to get these free as a bonus when you get the LP.

Send us your dubs! Looking for talent!

Lots of peeps ask us how they can get on the label.  Well, make quality tunes, not cookie-cutter imitations of others, as the market is too tough to be putting out such tracks.

Be creative and have excellent production (clean), and most importantly, transmit emotion in your tracks.  If you’ve got the goods, send us your tracks in MP3 to the.subdivision@gmail.com.

Are you a new artist and other labels don’t respond?  We listen to ALL tunes, and give honest feedback, as the goal is to help you along, even if your tunes are not what we have imagined for the label.  We put out tunes from new artists, as can be seen by releases 4 and 5, from Vesicle and Kaskaad respectively!

Free TSD Tunes!!!

OK, so we have made a few tunes in the past that were not suited for release, but they’re still pretty interesting in my opinion.  Another thing is that I can’t really open the files anymore to work on them in the future for computer reasons, so they stand as-is.  That being said, I would be glad to share them with you if you are interested in possessing a copy.  Just follow this link, which should be good for about a week:  https://www.yousendit.com/download/cmcxZFhtRSt0d0ZMWEE9PQ

Tres Chic – an experimental track at 129 BPM, a personal favorite of mine and made really quickly in an evening.  Played out by various DJs as more IDM, want a copy?  Get on it!

TLZ – very experimental spaced out from another dimension.  Light on sub-bass but a very nice interlude track for all you peeps playing deeper, more experimental sets.  140 BPM, that is if you can beatmatch with almost no percussion (its not really that hard!)

Trailblazer – Sergio Leone inspired futuristic space cowboy vortex.  Very experimental and again, with almost no percussion.  140 BPM.  Again, an excellent intro track or interlude.  I often play it as an outro.  Hit us up!  Tip:  the bass is a little heavy in the mix on this one, and like I said, I can’t change it now.  Turn it down to 1/2 of what you would usually have it at and it should be fine!

DO LEAVE US A COMMENT HERE LETTING US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!

To get these tracks, I think you just need to DL them, or send us your details to the.subdivision@gmail.com
